This may only be a partial list of reasons; please, add anything else in the comments. The deadline to file to run for the Board is May 19th. Entire Board Majority NOT vetting the Superintendent in any way, shape or form. Even the Seattle Times thought that was wrong. It was just absolute hubris and it was wrong. For the second time in just over a year , board members voted to negotiate a superintendent contract during a special meeting with no opportunity for public comment. Hi AS#1 community --
My name is Dan Landers; I have an incoming eighth grader (Ellie Carder-Landers) who has been at Summit K-12 since kindergarten. I'm actually writing on behalf of Carolyn Kyle, a longtime Summit staffer now joining the AS#1 community.
Carolyn needs any help she can get in the next couple days boxing "book group" books (larger sets of novels, etc.) for transfer from Summit K-12 to AS#1. There is a great collection and variety remaining available at Summit's library, and the district will move anything boxed and ready to go at the end of the week.
What we're needing is volunteers to help organize, box and label the books.
If anyone can spare some time, please contact Carolyn Kyle. Her e-mail is cekyle@seattleschools.org and school phone is 252-4488.
Thank you.
