B...@Irene, I'm not going to dispute your logic. Believe it or not, however, there was a time when about 20% of the students at Leschi's Spectrum program didn't even pass the WASL. Continuing to earn a level 4 score on the tests is pretty good evidence that the school is supporting learning beyond the grade level Standard. I'm not sure what other evidence they could provide.

Of course, maybe they could offer something if there were academic Standards for Spectrum students, but those don't exist.Charlie Mashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17173903762962067277noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28765366.post-1195902885004919542016-04-19T00:01:48.118-07:002016-04-19T00:01:48.118-07:00The district selects students who score well on te...The district selects students who score well on tests to participate in Advanced Learning. If those students then later score well on tests, that probably doesn't show whether the Advanced Learning programs have helped the students. Maybe the programs have helped them, but the test scores probably don't contain that information.

IreneAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28765366.post-68553027661824148282016-04-18T18:09:07.540-07:002016-04-18T18:09:07.540-07:00Judging from CSIPs, the measure of ALO Spectrum pr...Judging from CSIPs, the measure of ALO Spectrum programs will be the percentage of participating students who score "exceeds" on the state tests.Charlie Mashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17173903762962067277noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28765366.post-77136472842266935952016-04-18T16:46:13.518-07:002016-04-18T16:46:13.518-07:00NW Mom, I wonder if AP pass rates would be a good ...NW Mom, I wonder if AP pass rates would be a good way to evaluate before and after for Spectrum and HCC or even APP. That would really show real numbers: % of participants and average scores for each group.

3inSPSnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28765366.post-18486831540808127862016-04-18T15:27:56.976-07:002016-04-18T15:27:56.976-07:00I have wonder what is going to get said at this we...I have wonder what is going to get said at this week's Work Session where Highly Capable will be discussed.Melissa Westbrookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17179994245880629080noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28765366.post-13924207729410330962016-04-18T14:11:10.853-07:002016-04-18T14:11:10.853-07:00Probably, when it comes time to produce the report...Probably, when it comes time to produce the report - Programs are quickly reclassified as Services or Schools. I think those records could be searched out and data still gathered if funding for this was provided. It would be interesting to see that data.
NW MomAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
