Thank you for documenting this important...
Melissa,

Thank you for documenting this important meeting. This paragraph caught my eye:

".... President Carr rebuffed saying that was a conversation about growth boundaries and those were already approved."

Wasn't there an attempt to change the boundaries around Bailey Gatzert to increase the amount of FRL children that would attend the prek, which will be turned over to the city? Was there a boundary change? Some think that the city will use the prek program to bring charter schools into SPS.

There seemed to be a lot of attention focus on becoming a charter school authorizer which would allow a working relationship with the Charter Commission. Let's remember: The Chair of the Charter Commission is Steve Sundquist and he was the former President of SPS. Does one think that the former president of the school board and present chair of the charter commission would not want to work in conjunction with SPS- even without being an authorizer? I have to call BS on that argument.

Watchingnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28765366.post-13901956171496604802015-04-14T11:21:46.494-07:002015-04-14T11:21:46.494-07:00How is it that out-of-towner charter companies can...How is it that out-of-towner charter companies can swoop in and secure entire buildings and SPS can't find seem to find a single square foot that isn't a portable?Po3noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28765366.post-82236103339928362642015-04-14T08:03:40.819-07:002015-04-14T08:03:40.819-07:00Perhaps Clover Codd et al are hoping to cash in on...Perhaps Clover Codd et al are hoping to cash in on the charter $$ giveaway courtesy of the latest ESEA rewrite.
https://deutsch29.wordpress.com/2015/04/12/the-senate-esea-reauthorization-draft-part-v-charters/

CTAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
