Congrats to Ballard High School on Big Wins

Image
I see that Ballard High School is celebrating two big sports wins. The girls Fastpitch team took the Metro championship beating West Seattle. The boys soccer team took the Metro championship, beating Roosevelt. As well, the Chief Sealth girls track team members of the 4x100 won first in the Metro-All City Track meet yesterday. Update: Nathan Hale's girls varsity Ultimate team took the Metro championship beating Franklin. Good job to all who the students who worked so hard and competed.

Seattle Schools Work Sessions Wrap-Up - Athletics

I attended three Work Sessions last week and here are highlights Athletics I have to say this one seemed to be one of the less dry and more animated Work Sessions that I have attended in years.

They mix the important with the sublime (a first-person plea about a treaty in...

Seattle Schools Confirms Sports Change

Yes, all our comprehensive high schools will be moving to the Metro league (including Roosevelt, Ballard and Garfield).  Roosevelt will be the second-largest in the league but keep in mind, they count ONLY the numbers of 10,11and 12th graders to decide school size.  That's why Roosevelt will fit into the Metro league. Boy, that will save transportation dollars AND be one less reason to change to later start times for high school students (and middle school, as well).
