Check my "Dude, Seriously?" thread for updates on McCleary .  I find it astonishing that legislators think somehow it would reflect worse on the Court to promise to shut down schools if McCleary isn't fulfilled by the start of school year 2017-2018 than the legislature.  And, that the action would be so distasteful to the legislature that they would actually entertain the idea of NOT getting the work done so as to make it look like it's the Court's fault. The fault lies entirely on the seemingly touchy shoulders of the legislature.

Police in Bothell locked down Bothell High yesterday because of an attack on a shop teacher after school.  The school is closed for today as the investigation continues.  The police have not arrested anyone. The teacher is in satisfactory condition at Harborview.  The police say the school has many cameras so they hope they will be able to piece together what happened.  Those slowdowns on the Viaduct for the next week (which SPS said may slow some bus routes )?  Apparently it's for the sequel to Fifty Shades of Gray. Pasco School District had a "High School Reimagining Forum" this week about the 24-credit graduation requirement.   Good for Pasco.

This is Just a Drill

I think most schools will be participating - at 10:16 am this morning - in the Great Washington ShakeOut.  It helps schools (and everyone else) to be prepared and know what to do.
