Brandon Hersey Seems Unclear on Being a Seattle School Board Director

So I saw that the South Seattle Emerald had interviews with candidates for Seattle School Board from District 4 and I started reading.

Imagine my surprise when I see Director Brandon Hersey asking a question. What?!

A sitting director, who is also a candidate, is asking other candidates questions about being on the Board?

Totally inappropriate.

But we have directors who can intimidate and create upsetting work environments for JSCEE staff so sure, why not a director who is directly trying to influence an election?

This here is SPS Today.

He's also a voting taxpayer in Seattle. Something you are not.

CRT in Seattle
I'm not saying he's not either thing. It has zero to do with him using his office to question other candidates for the same office.

It's interesting to watch elected just act like the smartest people in the room. It never works out and I predict we will see that for both Hampson and DeWolf. Hersey seems to be following their lead.

I think he might look careful at the outcomes for DeWolf and Hampson and not let ego get in the way of the work.

Of course it’s inappropriate for Brandon Hersey who's currently running for school board himself to interview other school board candidates in a news article! Especially when one of them will become his coworker on the board. He is not an objective impartial community member. Did Song Maritz or Rivera have the reciprocal opportunity to ask Hersey questions too? Doesn’t look like it. The reporter should've known better than to allow this clear conflict of interest. Hersey should have declined to participate. The fact that he didn’t speaks to either his ignorance or his arrogance.
