And Then There Was One

Update:

Well, I was certainly wrong about what I thought The Stranger would do with their endorsements.

What is interesting is that the Seattle Times STILL hasn't made an endorsement in D2. Maybe in the Sunday Times?

end of update

The last school board race waiting for the endorsement from the Seattle Times is the one in District 2 between Lisa Rivera Smith, the incumbent, and challenger Christina Posten.

They didn't endorse incumbent Liza Rankin in District 1 but gave the nod to her challenger, Debbie Carlsen.

Will they do the same to Rivera Smith?

Taking bets. I'll go first.

I bet they endorse Christina Posten.

I'm not sure what 75% of school board candidates were thinking when they filled out their voters pamphlet statement but the word salad is shocking to see from so many. I hope they really don't think like their poor compositions read.

I'm okay with Rivera Smith not making it back onto the school board. She is a nice woman and works hard. However, she falls in line with board majority and I'm concerned about oversight.

Just WOW The stranger picked Rankin hahah not only did they snub Carlson they called her pandering just as I suspected. "she leaned heavily on her LGBTQ+ advocacy in a way that felt pandering and largely non-applicable to SPS"

Rankin is not well liked in D1 Do we have an upset possibly happening in D1? Is this a double double psyc ops ?

Sorry to be clueless, but Christina Posten - the same one was a disaster of principal at Whitman Middle School?

Contact Debbie Carlson and support her campaign.
D1 Voter, it's something to track for sure. Rankin isn't liked in D1 but I doubt she will be out in the primary. What to look for are the numbers for Carlsen (her likely challenger).

As well, Chandra Hampson is NOT liked in D3 so I would think anyone associated with her, like Evan Briggs, would end up seeing that endorsement as the kiss of death for her campaign.
