Seattle Times story on District Audit

A story in the Seattle Times reports the results of a State audit of Seattle Public Schools. This is an annual audit done as a matter of course on the financial practices of local government institutions.

The State auditor raised a number of issues that have been raised on this blog, including the use of funds from the capital budget for salaries.

You can read the audit and the District's response for yourself here.

There are actually two reports for this audit. See the other "Accountability" audit report here: http://www.sao.wa.gov/auditreports/auditreportfiles/ar1001793.pdf
