Transportation and Assignment Policy Changes

Updated

As Anonymous reminded us in a previous comment, next Wednesday. September 27th is an extremely important Board Work Session.

The web calendar posting says:

*****************
Board Work Session
5:00pm - 7:00pm
Location: Stanford Center, Auditorium
Work session regarding 2 year look at Student Assignment and Transportation changes

*****************
Based on what I have heard Board members say publicly in the past, they will be discussing redrawing reference areas, restricting choice, and limiting transportation.

The note at the end of this post:

"Board members will be discussing redrawing reference areas, restricting choice, and limiting transportation."

Is that your note, or does it come from an official source or page?

very confusing, I know, but "Is that your note, or does it come from an official source or page?" was not me, the anonymous who posted the original note about the meeting.

If you go to the link on the board calendar, the meeting description says "Work session regarding 2 year look at Student Assignment and Transportation changes"

That's my note, but based on previous public comments by School Board members. It's not a guess or an opinion.

The Board has publicly announced that they will be doing these things. Obviously, with the closures and consolidations, reference areas will have to be re-drawn.

Mr. Manhas and Mr. Green were very up front about reducing choice at the Community Conversations, and the purpose behind reducing choice was to reduce transportation costs.
