Wow, she is staying busy--listening sessions practically every weeknight evening!

Does anyone know if she has had, or will have, a listening session with the HCC community?

2E families will be joining the general SpEd listening session later this month, but there is no planned advanced learning or HCC meeting. I would not expect one, either.

If HCC is going to be blamed for pretty much any problem in this district, doesn't she really need to schedule some time to listen to HC families to hear their side of things? Is she already tipping her anti-advanced-learning hand?

Well, she's had meetings for practically everyone else. I'll suggest it to her at tonight's Board meeting.

Thanks Melissa. It would also help I think if parents got a little more clarity around the future of HCC and high school pathways. If she has a meeting, HCC parents should bring this up. Whether the district supports a plan to continue them or not. It may be too soon for her or maybe she has an opinion.

Last I heard the board decided temporarily (will revisit) creating a north end pathway at Lincoln, but it was only decided for 2019.

I believe the district was not in favor of keeping pathways as the previous superintendent and staff proposed neighborhood hubs or neighborhood schools to serve HC.

Some are reporting the Lincoln principal did not seem very enthusiastic about hosting HCC at Lincoln, or dual language programs. The Lincoln meetings she has hosted has not specifically addressed these programs either.
