Summer at SAM (and other events)

This is one of my favorite summer events and, except for the food, all free.

The Olympic Sculpture Park has Thursday and Saturday events (starting July 7th).  You can walk the beautiful park, listen to a band (on Thursday), do yoga or zumba (on Saturdays) and the Thursday event has an art project for kids.

I'll also note that University Village has free summer concerts as well on Wednesdays.  (The Beatles cover band, Nowhere Men, and the dance band, Hit Explosion, are big kid favorites.)  They also have children's activities like face-painting.

As well, there are a plethora of free/low-cost movies outdoors (to kind of give your kid a taste of a drive-in movie):

Magnuson Park

Movies at the Mural (Seattle Center)

West Seattle Outdoor movies

Shilshole Bay

Century Link Field ($1 and it goes to charity)

Jefferson Park
