Beginning Wednesday, February 3, Sand Point Way will be closed to all traffic north of the NOAA Center in the Magnuson Park area.
The traffic closure will include Sand Point Way NE between NE 60th Street and NE 95th Street.

What to Expect
Seattle Department of Transportation announced a full closure to the area is due to a emergency repair of a retaining wall and will last three to four weeks. The full closure will be followed by another three to four week closure for northbound traffic.A detour will be in place using NE 70th Street, 35th Avenue NE, and NE 95th Street. Local access will be maintained and the Burke Gilman trail will not be affected.

- No traffic through the construction zone in the 8500 block of Sand Point Way NE.
- No access for bicycles and pedestrians through the construction zone.
- Travel along the Burke-Gilman Trail will not be affected.
- Large equipment with heavy loads operating in the roadway 5 to 7 days a week, typically for 9-12 hours per day.
- Temporary relocation of utilities, potential short-term service disruptions.
- Significant excavation work.
