Seattle Schools and City of Seattle Partner for Home from School

Yesterday, the Mayor and the City of Seattle, along with Seattle Schools, announced an initiative, Home from School,  to support homeless students.

There are no real details about exactly who will do what or the cost except Seattle Housing Authority will be the lead.

You may recall when the Mayor had his Education Summit in the spring, he said that the goal for year three of his tenure as Mayor was to end homelessness for Seattle children.

I believe this is a worthy first step but, as we have all seen from news reports, a very difficult issue to tackle.

And an appropriate thing for the city to work on.
