Political Action

Candidates for School Board have some phone banks scheduled.

The King County Labor Council will be calling on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 8 PM from the Firefighters hall (great caller Id) at 517 2nd West near the counter-balance.

Anyone interested really supporting candidates should contact Max Brown at max@mlkclc.org or 441-7102

Other phone banking or campaign volunteer opportunities?

I spoke with Max and these calls are all going to union households and use some pretty high tech equipment to get the most out of volunteer time.

I'm putting my energy into this way of turning our dissatisfaction with the incumbents into real action to bring about change.

I couldn't think of a better way.

So much to do, so little time. Lets get started!

Thanks Charlie.

Another thing we can all do is send e-mail to all of our friends living in the city limits telling them our personal endorsements.

Most people don't have the first clue about candidates for school board elections (ahem...elections in general....).

When I recently sent my endorsements to friends in the city, I got replies from nearly every one of them thanking me for the information.

Your friends will appreciate it if you give them a simple recommendation and a few links to the candidates' websites so that they can go research further for themselves--if they are so inclined.

WV says if you don't do as I suggest and the current board is re-elected, we'll all be "fedtin".
Also, if your block is participating in the national block party night next week, chat up your neighbors.
