I have turned off the word verification under Comments as it was driving me (and many of you - I heard you!) nuts.

However, that means we have no spam filter.  I hope this won't become an issue.

I also hope to hear from Blogger about this issue.  I did Google the issue and many other blogs are not happy so I hope they choose another way to block spam.

My apologies for the irritation.

I fear that spammers will eventually make things unbearable for the admins, but thank you for changing this, if only as a temporary reprieve (I couldn't comment at all, was never able to get a single comment through).

The old method seemed to work reasonably well. Not perfect, but people who wanted to comment could do so, and it appeared (to a non admin) that while some spam crept through, it wasn't debilitating. Is it possible to use the old system, or did google just kill it?
DW, still trying to figure that one out.

I think it must be how one views these words...

I had trouble only a couple of times ... but I did have to take an interesting look at the words.

Perhaps this is some alternate kind of Rorschacht testing, so Google can learn even more about us.
