Exercising Thought
Does this ever happen to you?
You are doing something that involves a lot of concentration and/or effort so you aren't aware of thinking. Then later, you realize you HAD been thinking about something all along.
So it was today after I got done exercising. I saw a friend who said, "Well, what about Enfield?" We chatted a bit and parted.
As I walked back to my car, I realized that I had been thinking about Dr. Enfield, Bellevue and our own district. So I have a couple of questions:
- if Bellevue asked Enfield to come on-board within a month, would you be okay with that?
- or do you think she should stay until June?
-if she left, Deputy Superintendent Noel Treat would be the most likely interim until a new person was selected.
I just wonder if maybe she is more of a lame-duck than just an interim and maybe if she wanted to go and the Board was willing to release her from her contract, if that would happen.

1. she wants those "Discovering ..." horrible math books,
2. I can help pack her car with the horrible books for her ride across I-90.
so long.
Enfield is a quitter. Let her go. She will likeliy try and pull dollars out of our classroom.

WV thinks it's time that Enfield "reineth" over another district.

Here's the ultimate irony:
In Cathy Thompson's letter to staff explaining why no hire was made, she says Dr. Enfield felt the position was so important that they couldn't hire from the available candidates and rather a national search should be done!!!
Ha!! And yet she wanted the super's position handed to her on a silver platter with no search, no interview!
There are so many examples of irony in this district it makes your head spin.

As I see it the Superintendent is already a lame duck. I would say if she takes the job in Bellevue it is only a matter of time before she screws up and is run out. I giver her maybe a year.
Bellevue has money and are not going to take any crap and miss management like she did in Seattle.
In reference to Noel Treat becoming the interim person, nothing would surprise me at this point. It does seem that the Cool Ade drinkers are advocating for the devil we know rather then the one we don't know.
I do not know how much more Noel would have to screw up to be a screw-up, but he was the same person whom was legal counsel and got promoted. Usually you don't get a better job when you are as stupid and useless as a 3 legged blind dog.
In closing the folks on this blog will spend their time supporting the worst person imaginable.
I challenge you Melissa, I encourage you to argue for a month your position without flip flopping a solid argument about the public schools. Every time you get cornered on an issue you always run the other way scared. You sick your lap dogs on them.
Step up and be bold, give us valid arguments and reasons. Don't just attack and run the other way. I will put forth $20 you can't stay in line and argue your point validly for a month.
Lastly, why does Save the Seattle Schools always attacks minority schools and not the failing white schools? I am also puzzled by your double standard, you and Charlie marginalize minority children.
I have often wondered that if Rainer Beach is so bad, why don't you Charlie help them. Raise money for Saturday School, or volunteer your time and mentor the kids. If they need help, help them. Saying is not helping.
Unlike you, I understand a positive education is effecting everyone. We need a smart and educated future. No matter what race or ethnicity they are. Unlike you Charlie I am not an elitist. I believe in empowering young people to make up their own minds.
Sincerely,
Nick Esparza
Nick, your antipathy overshadows any (valid) arguments you put forth.

I agree with Mr. Ed.

Read "Charter School" and then send $20 to Melissa.
I think that's what I hear in your voice.

Poor school children of Seattle.
Let's get real people. I don't like a lot of things Enfield has done, and I can see why some people would think she should go sooner rather than later. But comparing her to Palin is ridiculous. Whatever else you may say about her, she's and articulate and intelligent person.
BTW, Susan fell through the trap door in Bellevue when she couldn't answer what math curriculum they used at Evergreen SD where she had been working as assistant superintendent for the previous 3 years.
I hope we can appoint a new interim and be gone with her and 2 more years of Michael DeBell is far too many if he's going to continue acting inappropriately. Censuring, at least, would be going the right direction to perhaps tone him down.
