Update via KOMO news:
Six teens were injured - three of them seriously - in a two-car crash that sent one of the vehicles plunging through a guardrail and over an embankment Thursday morning on Interstate 5 near mid-Boeing Field, emergency officials said.
Witnesses said the teens in both cars were driving erratically before the crash.
Arriving at the scene, they found one of the cars about 60 to 70 feet down an embankment. Four people were in the car, and three of them were seriously injured - including one with a serious back injury. The fourth sustained moderate injuries, but was able to crawl out of the car and back up to the freeway.
A heavy rescue team was needed to get the get the three other victims out of the car. They were brought back up to waiting ambulances on the freeway using ropes and other rescue equipment.
The second car remained on the freeway after the crash. Four people were in that vehicle, and two of them sustained minor injuries.
KIRO is reporting that one car, a Lexus, when down 70 feet into a wooded embankment.
The Times is reporting that all the Cleveland students (there were eight people in total in the accident, six verified to be from Cleveland) were juniors who were not required to be on campus until 9:30 am.)
